West Virginia Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Nursing starting in August 2024.

The successful candidate will teach in the BSN program and will be responsible for teaching clinical nursing in pediatric, maternal child, fundamentals, and/or medical-surgical nursing in the undergraduate program. Requirements include an MSN degree (doctorate preferred), valid (or qualify for a valid) West Virginia nursing license, and an unencumbered driver’s license. The successful candidate will have the ability to articulate the needs of the School of Nursing, support a collegial work environment, appreciate the significance of rural clinical experience and distance education, and have the desire to join with us in building a program that will be recognized as a model in its teaching, research, practice, and service achievements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain professional standards of practice in teaching in the classroom and clinical settings.
• Meet West Virginia Wesleyan College’s standards for teaching, classroom management, use of technology, grade submission, and records management.
• Prepare and implement teaching and evaluation strategies for engagement of students in the profession of nursing.
• Support student success through mentoring, tutoring, and advising.
• Possess Certification in BLS through American Heart Association

The School of Nursing at Wesleyan boasts BSN, MSN, post-graduate FNP certificate, and DNP programs with a rapidly growing student enrollment. The state-of-the-art simulation lab employs cutting-edge technologies to prepare students to embrace a myriad of opportunities in nursing.
